Let There Be Light

November 5, 2017

Japanese Houses in general are designed around smaller individual rooms, which each serve a separate function. This makes for Darker, Smaller more Intimate Rooms which are easier to heat during the Cold of Winter.

At Lenken Design we want to create a more Open and Sociable Layout which has good Flow and Functionality, but without the huge costs of Heating the larger spaces. When we started the demolition on the ground floor we were surprised just how much the Natural Light flooding in started Heating the room.

So with the right Design Layout, Insulation, and Sustainable Heating in place you can create a Light, Bright, and Warm Open Living Space.
